Barn Doors & Hardware

Q: Are the barn doors ready to be installed once delievered?
A:

Almost. To allow you to use whatever hardware works best for your home, these doors are only machined on the bottom rail for the floor mounted fin guide. This is the hardest part of all the machining, and allows you to use the most popular and discreet of the guides.

Q: What is the warranty policy?
A:

We stand behind every door and purchase made. The Frameport product warranty is an industry-leading Five (5) Year Limited Warranty. Click here for further Frameport Warranty details.

Q: How long should my track length be?
A:

Your Frameport barn door comes with a pre-fit hardware kit that includes a track that is 80" long. This length works best for any single door opening. For a double opening installation of two barn boors (bi-parting), these track lengths also work well.

Q: What size barn door should I order?
A:

Barn doors don't require a precise size in order to fit a specified opening. Instead, they slide across the opening. So, to some degree, the size of the door is determined by the amount of wall space available for the door to slide open, and the amount you want the door to overlap the opening. Generally, an overlap of 2"-6" on each side of the opening is sufficient for most purposes. For example, for a 36" wide opening, a 42" wide barn door will give you an overlap of 3" on each side for light diffusion and attenuation.

Q: What is a barn door floor guide? How does it work?
A:

The Frameport "internal floor mount door guide" is to help prevent your door from swinging along it's horizontal axis and bumping into the wall. Frameport doors come pre-machined with a groove for this guide, so once it's installed it essentially becomes almost invisible.

Q: What is a door stopper? How does it work?
A:

The Frameport right and left "door stoppers" are mounted on either end of the hardware track to prevent the barn door from traveling too far and coming off the track.

Q: Does the mounting board come with the door?
A:

Frameport barn doors come complete with everything required for installation, including a ledger board of a matching species of wood and finish for retro-fit installations.

Installation

Q: Does International Door Company install doors?
A:

Unfortunately, we do not at this time, but we provide you with all of the installation instructions necessary to successfully hang your door! In the future, we will be joining with some of our business partners to offer installation expertise and assistance.

Bifolds & Hardware

Q: Are the bifold doors ready to install once delivered?
A:

Yes, for the most part. Bifold doors come with the hardware needed to install them. If you order a pre-finished door, it comes completely ready to be installed. If you order a raw or primed finish, you'll want to finish it yourself, before installing it.

Q: Does the bifold door come with knobs and hinges?
A:

Yes, all bifold doors will come with the track, knobs, hinges, and everything else required to install them. The barn doors will come with the hangers, track, and other essential hardware necessary to install.
